We interrupt your feed to thank you for your continued support and introduce you to recent additions to the Erie Police Department. If you happen to see Officer Kelsey Grey and Officer Conner Willyard please introduce yourself and say, "hi"!
??What do you love about working in Erie?
Kelsey: The community is very supportive and kind. Everyone in the department is friendly and supportive. I've never met such a nice community.
Conner: I have amazing coworkers! Everyone in the Town has been extremely supportive.?How long have you been in law enforcement?
Kelsey: I have been a police officer for 5 years. I started with the Hays Police Department in Kansas. Then I spent four years with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. I have been with the Erie Police Department since July.
Conner: I have been an officer for a little over five months here in Erie.??Why did you want to be in law enforcement?
Kelsey: My answer is fairly typical for this field; I just want to help people. I also wanted an active career where I didn't have to sit behind a desk and I could interact directly with my community.
Conner: I've always had an interest in the law. I like the fact that every day is different. You never encounter the exact same situation twice.??Tell us about your average day
Kelsey: Right now I am working the night shift. When I'm not responding to calls, I spend my shift patrolling for intoxicated drivers or suspicious activity. I enjoy giving my best to make sure everyone is safe.
Conner: If I'm not responding to calls, I am usually trying to drive around the neighborhoods and local businesses.??What are you doing when not working?
Kelsey: I love being outdoors, enjoying the fresh air and sunlight when I can. I enjoy spending time with my family, playing with my dogs and reading.
Conner: When I'm not at work I'm usually with friends or family. I like to go fishing and travel.?
Make us proud! And, thanks for keeping #ErieSafe
