Cone Zone - Erie Parkway Bridge Closure
Description:
Asphalt mill operations between the Erie Parkway Bridge and Briggs Street and Erie Parkway intersection requires an overnight closure of Erie Parkway between Briggs Street and Bonanza Drive/Colliers Boulevard. In addition, Montgomery Drive will require a two-hour closure during asphalt overlay operations.
Duration:
Mill work on the bridge will begin Sunday, September 27 through Monday, September 30, weather permitting, during the evening (approximately 9 p.m. - 6 a.m.). A limited closure of Montgomery Drive will occur during paving operations between 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Paving of the north lanes and the asphalt overlay of the south lanes will begin Tuesday, October 1 through Friday, October 4, weather permitting.
Detours:
Temporary traffic controls for the closure of the Erie Parkway Bridge include:
- Vehicles traveling west will be routed north on Colliers Boulevard to WCR 1.5 then west/southwest on WCR 1.5 to Briggs Street.
- Vehicles traveling east will be routed north on Briggs Street to WCR 1.5 then south on Colliers Boulevard.
- During the Montgomery Drive asphalt overlay local traffic will be diverted south to the roundabout at the intersection of Montgomery Drive, Lehigh Circle and Bonanza Drive. At the roundabout, all vehicles wanting to reach Erie Parkway will take Bonanza Drive east, then continue north on Bonanza Drive to the signaled intersection at Erie Parkway.
Pedestrians and bicyclists should stay clear of the work zones. Delays may occur and alternate routes are highly recommended. Please obey traffic control staff and signage.
