STAR Award Presented

STAR Award Recipients

During Tuesday night’s meeting, the Board of Trustees, recognized a group of employees from the Erie Police Department for their exceptional customer service and teamwork that was demonstrated throughout the planning and execution of the first Town-wide National Night Out event.

The Erie Police Department has participated in National Night Out (NNO) events for many years, but decided to try something different in 2018.  Instead of disbursing officers to various neighborhoods where they could only stay for a limited amount of time, they were going to bring all of Erie’s neighborhoods together in one location at Erie Community Park.

On Tuesday, August 7th, Erie celebrated National Night Out and the event was a great success with a celebration of safety, coming together as a Town, providing a fun event for the kids and a great opportunity to meet new neighbors.  A special thank you to the following staff members for their role in making the event such a success:

  • Commander Mike Haefele

  • Administrative Manager Sarah Lambert

  • Sergeant Kevin Jamison

  • Records Specialist Andrea van Doorn

  • Records/Court Specialist Missy Carranco

  • Assistant Recreation Coordinator, Programs Karinne Monn

BACKGROUND: The STAR Award has been created to recognize and express appreciation for services rendered by Town employees who demonstrate exceptional service and/or performance in one or more of the following categories: Customer Service, Safety, Creativity, Teamwork and Outstanding Achievement.
