Activity Notice from Crestone Peak Resources

Upcoming Maintenance and Plug and Abandon Activity in and Erie

Crestone has notified the Town of Erie that during the week of February 12, 2018, Crestone will be re-entering the Erie Champlin B 2 well site that is just west of Colliers Boulevard and north of Erie Parkway, to complete the plugging of this well. According to Crestone, this operation is expected to take approximately five days.

During this activity, a truck mounted service rig will move in and rig up. Crestone has also said that they will set permanent plugs in the wellbore and cement each well per Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) regulations. The steel casing in the wellbore will be cut-off below surface and a metal plate will be welded into place. All surface equipment that supports these wells will be removed. The area around the plugged and abandoned wellsite will be reclaimed per Crestone’s agreement with the Town of Erie.

According to Crestone, all work will be done during the day, Monday through Saturday. Equipment expected on location during this time includes a truck mounted service rig, crane, various pieces of heavy equipment, water tanks, trucks and worker pickup trucks. During this activity, neighbors can expect to see an increase in traffic to the location. All access is limited to the designated access road.

If you have any questions regarding any of this activity, please contact Crestone via email at CommunityRelations@CrestonePR.com or phone at 720-410-8537. You can also visit the Crestone Peak Resources page on the Town of Erie’s Website.
