The Town of Erie has been notified by Crestone Peak Resources that they will be moving the drilling rig from the Morgan Hills location to their Waste Connections location today. They will also be moving the Woolley Becky Sosa rig to their Highway 52 site, located north of Highway 52.
According to Crestone, they anticipate to begin drilling operations at the Waste Connections location soon. This is the drilling site located west of County Road 5, and east of Vista Parkway. There are seven horizontal wells on this site.
According to Crestone they are using an electric drilling rig on this location. With an electric rig, the power is generated and distributed to this site through the existing electrical grid. By utilizing this form of power there is a significant decrease in noise and emissions from generators. In addition, 40-foot sound walls have been installed around the perimeter of the location to further reduce noise and lights coming from the site.
Throughout operations, Crestone will monitor mud and dust and mitigate it as needed, and maintain the approved access road to this site. Drilling should be done at the Waste Connections location in July.
