Building Young Adult Skills & Confidence92% of U.S. adults agree it is important for youth and young adults to have easy access to quality employment opportunities. Did you know that park and recreation departments across the country are some of the largest employers of youth? This summer, the Town of Erie Parks & Recreation Department has employed 112 recreation and six parks’ staff members aged 18 and under. These youth and young adults are essential positions for the community and provide many of these workers with a starting point for their careers! Fun fact: A handful of our full-time staff team members (one who has been here more than 10 years!) even got their start in the Parks and Recreation Department as a part-time young adult staff member here in Erie.

Motor Vehicle Registration Tips for Boulder County ResidentsBuying a new or used car soon? Summer is a busy car-buying season and the Boulder County Motor Vehicle Division offer the following reminders: - In-person services now require an appointment and vehicle registration renewals must be completed either online, at a self-service express kiosk, by mail, or by drop box – NOT in person.
- Appointments are currently available at all three branches (Boulder, Lafayette, Longmont) for services such as new titles, out-of-state titles, title concerns, and first-time registrations (new residents).
- Thinking of buying a car from a private seller? Book an appointment for a VIN check before your purchase, you can always cancel. See the website for additional tips to stay safe when purchasing a vehicle from a private party.
- Note that phones lines are staffed but often busy. For non-urgent questions, use the online form for the fastest response time.

Cone ZonesEach week we list the projects that may have the biggest impact on traffic flow for that week. As always, please sign up for alerts to get more details about these projects and many others. More information and details for how to sign up are at www.erieco.gov/ConeZone. Four Corners at Town Center: Single-lane shifts or closures will be in place to accommodate road work on Erie Parkway and County Line Road. As part of the Four Corners development, the contractor Asphalt Specialties will be doing road work improvements on Erie Parkway, just west of County Line Road. This road work will be in preparation for connecting new roads into the development. These roads will eventually lead from Four Corners and meet Erie Parkway from the south side. Traffic will have continuous access throughout the project, though delays may be possible. Single-lane shifts or closures will be in place to accommodate the road work. Please slow down and be aware of any signage or crew members giving directions. All work will take place between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. from Monday-Friday. The project is expected to last into September. Road work is weather-dependent, and timelines may shift. Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians should always be aware and use caution when in and around work zones. Whenever possible, please avoid the construction areas.
