Tip A Cop Benefitting Special Olympics

Erie Police Officers are joining Erie Special Olympics Athletes at The Rusty Melon in a fundraising event called 'Tip A Cop'. Officers will be collecting funds to benefit Special Olympics, Colorado from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, June 30. Join us for this important event to help support a worthy cause. 

Get Ready for July 3 Fireworks

Independence Day festivities in the Town of Erie have changed over time, from parades to concerts, speeches, and baseball games to pie eating and pageants. But one thing has always been constant; a celebration among friends and family under an illuminated sky. This year’s event on Monday, July 3 will again be at the Erie Community Center with viewing areas all throughout Erie Community Park. Parking begins at 6 p.m. with food trucks and other vendors set up near The Post pavilion at the newest section of the park. Fireworks begin at roughly 9:30 p.m. depending on lighting and weather conditions. Check the site map and the event page for more details.

County Line/Coal Creek Blvd – We appreciate your patience and understanding with the ongoing infrastructure changes in southern Erie. An important milestone is on the horizon: Coal Creek Boulevard and Monroe Street are projected to be fully operational by Tuesday, June 20. The permanent closure of County Line Road, from Hwy 7 to Monroe Street, has been necessary to complete utility work for the Lafayette Water Reclamation Facility Expansion and Parkdale development projects. In the interim, motorists may use the 119th Street and Arapahoe Road detour.

When complete, Coal Creek Boulevard/Monroe St. will serve as the primary southbound route to Hwy 7. We continue to coordinate with the Parkdale Developer, Xcel, and CDOT to ensure timely completion and smooth transitions.
