Employee of the Year 2022

Chief Stewart Announces Officer Newman as Employee of the Year

The Erie Police Department is pleased to announce the 2022 Employee of the Year, Officer Branin Newman. Among his many deserving qualities is his exceptional work as a Field Training Officer, for which he is known to be a highly effective role model for new officers. In the multiple nominations, Officer Newman was credited for his reliability; a testament of which is his commitment to covering vacancies on all shifts – day or night - at least 23 times in 2022 alone.

In addition, the Sergeants who supervise Newman directly or indirectly submitted their nomination to recognize his tremendous dedication and note he goes above and beyond, committing to a myriad of events such as, After Prom, High School football games, the Youth Academy, and the July 3rd Fireworks Show.

Chief Kimberly Stewart said, “For these reasons and many more, Officer Newman is the 2022 Erie Police Department Employee of the Year. Congratulations!”
