Statement in Support of LGBTQ+ Community

The Town of Erie stands with the victims and their families in the wake of the tragedy at Club Q in Colorado Springs. We offer the porch of Town Hall (645 Holbrook Street) as a makeshift memorial area for anyone who would like to leave notes, flowers, or other materials to express their grief and support. We also provide this space as a space for any community members who may wish for a gathering area to reflect and just be together. Anyone who wishes to do so this evening, Monday, Nov. 21, is welcome to gather anytime between 5-7 p.m.

Following a request from Governor Jared Polis, we have lowered our American flag at Town Hall to half-staff and added the Pride flag below it as an expression of support for the ability to live and love without fear of violence or discrimination. Please visit our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion webpage to read a message from Mayor Justin Brooks, a message from our DEI Manager Alberto De Los Rios, and find support resources for anyone in need.

Town of Erie Cone Zones

Each week we list the projects that may have the biggest impact on traffic flow for that week. As always, please sign up for alerts to get more details about these projects and many others. More information and details for how to sign up are at www.erieco.gov/ConeZone.

  • Utility Work for Four Corners – Utility work has begun in preparation for construction at Four Corners near the intersection of Erie Parkway and County Line Road. Utility work may cause some single lane closures, but roads will remain open in all directions.
  • WCR 7 & Erie Parkway – The intersection at WCR 7 and Erie Parkway is open in all directions. However, the contractor did not complete the work in compliance the Town’s specifications, so Town staff are working with the contractor to ensure the contractor corrects the deficiencies and finishes all improvements to the new roadway as specified before closing out the project.
    • Foundations for the new stoplight signal are completed. Signal installation is scheduled for the beginning of 2023.

Road work is weather-dependent, and timelines may shift. Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians should always be aware and use caution when in and around work zones. Whenever possible, please avoid the construction areas.
