Erie Police Command

It was so great to see many of you at the Town Fair last weekend. We thought (in case we missed you), we’d take a moment to thank you for your continued support and identify our command staff of the Erie Police Department. 

?Who is ‘Command Staff’?

??What is Command Staff’s role?
The 46 officers, 9.5 non-certified staff, and all sections of the Erie Police Department are overseen by Command Staff. These individuals provide police services to approximately 30,000 residents and have a patrolling responsibility of 48 miles.
 
?? Tell us about each of you
 
Chief Kim Stewart was promoted in 2016 to Chief and in addition to overseeing the entire department, she directly supervises the Deputy Chief and the Public Information Officer.

Deputy Chief Lee Mathis was promoted in 2016 and in addition to providing oversight for operations and administration, he supervises the commanders.

Commander Mike Haefele was promoted in 2016 and is responsible for supervising personnel in support services.

Commander Heather Carmosino recently joined the department in 2022 and is responsible for supervising personnel in police operations.
