Update: Erie Parkway Waterline Improvements ProjectThis is an update on construction work on Erie Parkway for May 16 thru May 20. The impacted area for this phase is just east of the Erie Parkway and Powers Street intersection. The focus of this work is to install the pipeline from the south side of Erie Parkway across the east bound lanes (adjacent to the median), to the north side of Erie Parkway across the west bound lanes, then into Erie Community Park. On May 18 through May 20 the work area is focused on re-installation of the medians that had to be removed. Traffic control for this phase will include:
Monday, May 16 - Work Hours:? 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Traffic Control:? Single-lane access - one through lane eastbound and one through lane west bound will be open. All construction work will be cleared from the roadway between 4 to 4:30 p.m. The contractor may work in the closed-off work area until 5 p.m.
- Detours and traffic control cones will remain in place overnight.
Tuesday, May 17 - Work Hours: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Traffic Control: Single-lane access – one through lane west bound will be shifted to the south side of Erie Parkway at Briggs St. then transitioned back to the north side of Erie Parkway at Powers St., where a uniformed traffic control officer will control traffic at Powers St. A single-through-lane eastbound will be open. All construction work will be cleared from the roadway between 4 to 4:30 p.m. The contractor may work in the closed-off work area until 5 p.m.
- Detours and traffic control cones will remain in place overnight. Both east bound through lanes will be open; and one west bound through lane will be open.
Wednesday, May 18 thru Friday, May 20 - Work Hours:? 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
- Traffic Control Plan:? Traffic will be routed down to single through lanes for east and west bound traffic; as medians will be rebuilt. All traffic signals will remain at normal operation.?All construction work will be cleared from the roadway between 4 to 4:30 p.m.
- All vehicle traffic movements will be in normal operation mode after 4:30 p.m.
Motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists are urged to be aware of construction traffic and pay close attention to traffic control signs, reduce speeds and, if possible, avoid the construction area during work hours. Traffic control signage and delineators will be on site and indicate traffic pattern shifts and the work zone closed to thru-traffic. All dates are subject to change due to unforeseen site conditions and weather delays.
