Safety Alert: Crime Spree in Vista Ridge

Erie, Colorado. Over the weekend (Nov. 26-28, 2021), criminals targeted a particular area of Erie, trespassed at least five unlocked vehicles, and used a spare key left in one of the vehicles to steal the sixth vehicle. The crimes were committed in the Vista Ridge neighborhood (east of Vista Parkway and north of E. Baseline Road).

Among the items stolen was a handgun, new Colorado license plates, another states’ license plates, an expired drivers’ license, vehicle registrations, purses, backpacks, sunglasses, hiking gear, clothing, and electronics (iPhone, etc.).

The Erie Police Department asks anyone who feels they may have been victimized to call the non-emergency Boulder County Dispatch and speak to an Erie Police Officer.

Additionally, anyone with information, or video footage, is encouraged to call the same number, 303-441-4444.
