Update: Upcoming Detours: WCR 5 near Erie Parkway

From Oct. 20 to Oct. 29, 2021, storm sewer work will continue in Weld County Road 5 near the intersection with Erie Parkway and head south on the eastbound side of WCR5 as part of the Westerly Development Improvements. Work will be completed no later than October 29, 2021.

The construction will close the right turn lane in WCR5 but traffic will have access in both directions of WCR5. Traffic control will remain in place overnight with full access in both directions.

Northbound WCR5 traffic is suggested to detour heading east on WCR6/Garfield Road, then north on WCR7. Southbound WCR5 traffic is suggested to head east on Erie Parkway then south on WCR7.

Motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and traffic control signs, reduce speeds and, if possible, avoid the construction area during work hours. Traffic control signage and delineators will be on-site to enable travel through the construction area in a timely and safe manner. Delays may occur and alternate routes are strongly recommended.
