Police Officer Cadet Blog

The Erie Police Department is pleased to introduce the first-ever Police Officer Cadet, Ronnie Oliver! Oliver began the Red Rocks Community College’s Law Enforcement Academy, in Lakewood, Colorado, on August 9. The 18-week academy will allow Oliver to pursue her career in law enforcement, by obtaining the Police Officer Standards Training (POST) certification.

Oliver will be occasionally blogging about her experiences, for now, let’s get to know more about Ronnie with her answers to a few questions:

?? Tell us about Week One of the academy
I would describe the phase of the academy being the turning point from getting the ball rolling to hitting the ground running.

?? What’s something of note your instructor has said?
Win as a team, lose as a team.

?? What was your takeaway of the week?
110% focus is absolutely crucial for officer safety

?? Five years from now – what will you remember most about this week?
Everyone in the class uplifting each other through challenging situations. As a result, all of us are growing closer as a team.
