EPD Fact Check- Since the Pandemic began in approximately February/March 2020, the Erie Police Department has issued a total of 2 citations.
- One citation was issued in April 2020 after a business owner was provided education and warned.
- Another citation was issued in November 2020 to a different business owner after education and warnings had been provided.
- No one has been arrested for Public Health violations in the Town of Erie.
- Currently, the Erie Police Department is NOT responding to anonymous Public Health complaints.
- EPD has not, and would not, advise children (2 or older) to wear masks while napping.
- Those wishing to make a complaint need to contact the Erie Police Department via Dispatch at 303-441-4444 or stop by 1000 Telleen Avenue and ask to speak with an officer. The officer will speak with you and take a report if you are willing to identify yourself for the report. Follow-up will be *conducted by the officer as appropriate.
- No businesses in the Town of Erie have been threatened with citation or arrest since the latest Town mask mandate went into effect.
- The mask mandate was ratified by the Board of Trustees on September 14, 2021, and covers the entire Town of Erie (whether on the Boulder County or Weld County side).
