Update: 119th Street Lane Closures
SEMA Construction, the Town’s Contractor constructing the Zone 3 Waterline Extension, is continuing the installation of the waterline along 119th Street. The work will involve daytime lane closures on 119th Street between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm but traffic will be able to go in both directions. Between 4:00 pm and 9:00 am, all lanes will be open.
The lane closures are necessary for water line installation, site restoration (including milling and overlaying the northbound lane), replacing the paved shoulder, and adding a crusher fine trail adjacent to the paved shoulder. The work along 119th Street is anticipated to be complete by mid-September. Time frames and dates are subject to change due to weather and any other unanticipated delays.
Beginning August 30, 2021, SEMA Construction will begin installing the Zone 3 Waterline Extension along the north side of the Compass Development starting at Quest Drive and going west, connection to the exiting pipe east of 119th Street. The majority of this area has already been cleared in anticipation of the waterline installation.
The work along the north side of the Compass Development will involve trail closure until the area is restored. Existing trees and landscape islands will be restored once the pipeline installation is complete.
After the waterline is complete, SEMA Construction will be installing a new concrete trail extending west and connecting the existing concrete trail in the Compass Development to the new crusher fine trail along the east side of 119th Street which will extend north to Rex Ranch.
Motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and traffic control signs, reduce speeds and, if possible, avoid the construction area during work hours. Traffic control signage, delineators, and flaggers will be on-site to enable travel through the construction area in a timely and safe manner. Delays may occur and alternate routes are strongly recommended.
