Nine Mile Corner Development UpdateNine Mile Corner, the 45-acre mixed-use development public-private partnership between the Town of Erie and Evergreen Development, continues to make progress on its private and public improvements, including the widening of Arapahoe Road and improvements to the Hwy 287 and Arapahoe Road intersection. The partnership is excited to announce Lowe's Home Improvement commencing construction on their 111,000 square foot store and King Soopers joining Lowe's as a second major anchor tenant! With King Soopers joining the development, Nine Mile Corner will soon be a bustling center. In addition to King Soopers and Lowe's, there will be eight other commercial properties and 290 apartment units. The development of that corner will be a great hub between existing and future residential areas in the area, as well as commuting traffic along major arterial roads. The construction project includes widening the 287/Arapahoe intersection to add additional east/west through lanes and turn lanes in both directions to resolve existing traffic delays.
This new commercial development will support both the Town of Erie and the City of Lafayette under the terms of an existing Intergovernmental Agreement between the Town and the City. Erie and Lafayette will share sales tax revenue generated at Nine Mile as well as sales tax from new construction on the Lafayette development parcel on the west side of US 287.
