US 287 Bus Rapid Transit
Public Meeting

Join the Boulder County project team on April 14 at 6 p.m. for the second virtual public meeting to explore multi-modal improvements on US 287. Please register for the virtual meeting at boco.org/US287-April14. This study focuses on bus rapid transit (BRT) routing, stations, and multi-modal alternatives. The meeting will include visuals of potential BRT guideways and opportunities for the public to ask questions and share their opinion. Learn more at boco.org/287planning.

Outdoor Warning Siren

The outdoor warning sirens will be tested today, April 5, at 7 p.m. Siren tests ensure that all systems and procedures are working correctly and are in no way related to COVID-19. The tests also promote public awareness of the warning sirens. The sirens are meant to reach people that are outside, not indoors. For details, please read the news release.

Unemployment Identity Scam

With the rise in unemployment insurance claims associated with COVID-19 nationally, there has been a rise in fraudulent claims and other instances of fraud or identity theft.  If you receive a Reliacard debit card or other paperwork from the Department of Labor and have not filed a claim, report it via the form and follow the four steps outlined on the Department of Labor and Unemployment webpage.

111th street and arapahoe road

Impacts to 111th Street - Nine Mile Minor Subdivision

On Thursday, April 15, as part of the Nine Mile Minor Subdivision development work, the contractor for the developer will begin to install the offsite sewer line in 111th Street. This work will require trenching, milling of the roadway surface and asphalt paving in large areas of the roadway between Arapahoe Road and Flatiron Meadows Boulevard and 111th Street. The work is expected to last through early summer. Time frames and dates are subject to change due to weather and any other unanticipated delays. For details, please read the news release.

Planting Roots - Town or Erie's Tree Nursery

Did you know the Erie Parks Division has a Tree Nursery? The Tree Nursery, which can hold about 100 trees, provides a cost-effective approach to planting trees in our parks and Town facilities. Also, the nursery allows our Town Forester to test out different species' viability in Erie. Stolen Property Recovered

Stolen Property Recovered Thanks to Owner and Detectives

In the early morning hours of March 21, a locked U-Haul truck was stolen from in front of a residence on S. Parkdale Circle. The U-Haul truck was later found, but with the majority of the owner's possessions missing. Ten days later, on March 31, the owner alerted the Erie Police Department to an online posting displaying one of their items for sale. Erie Detectives arranged to meet the seller and arrested two suspects in connection to the Erie theft. For details, please read the news release.
