Safer Main Streets Award
The Colorado Department of Transportation and the Denver Regional Council of Governments selected the Town of Erie, among 30 transportation projects, to receive matching funds up to $2,360,000 to improve County Line Road from Telleen to Evans. Governor Jared Polis said, "The
Safer Main Streets Initiative is a great opportunity for local governments and the State to work together to ensure we are all successfully serving our communities." Last summer, local government agencies were invited to submit their best and most creative solutions to improve safety and accessibility. In her application, Wendi Palmer, the Town's Civil Engineer, demonstrated the need to widen County Line Road (CLR), construct a shared-use path, and add sidewalks and left-turn lanes to enhance the overall safety of pedestrians and bicycles. Thank you Wendi! Your thoughtful application will help the Town make CLR safer, more walkable, more efficient and more beautiful!
