Level Orange: safer at home risk

                                              November 9, 2020

COVID-19 Update

On Friday, November 6, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment moved Boulder County to the more restrictive Safer at Home Level Orange (formerly known as Level 3) in the Dial Framework due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and the testing positivity rate in Boulder County. The Town of Erie continues to provide services remotely, and residents are strongly encouraged to use online or remote services whenever that is possible. Please continue to wear a mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance.
Beth Haynes Award

Beth Haynes Award

The Erie Police Department nominated Officer Justin Slavin to receive the Beth Haynes Annual Award for his compassion, kindness, professionalism, and expertise in aiding Erie’s domestic violence victims. The award is one of the most prestigious honors given in Boulder County by peers and was first awarded in 1994 following the loss of Officer Haynes of the Boulder Police Department when responding to a domestic violence call. Officer Slavin, pictured, was recognized by District Attorney Michael Dougherty and First Assistant District Attorney Katharina Booth.

Shop Local Campaign

The Economic Development Team encourages Erie businesses to participate in the Shop Local Colorado Campaign. For every $100 spent in Colorado, $70 stays in our community! There are many ways businesses can connect to the campaign:

  • Announce the campaign on your website and newsletters and direct people to coloradosbdc.org/shop-local.
  • Share the #ShopLocalColorado messaging with your networks and social media platforms. Print flyers and graphics in shop windows and websites.
Christmas Tree Recycling

Christmas Tree Recycling

Beginning December 26, residents may drop off Christmas trees at the Erie Recycling Center for disposal. The service is free of charge, and residents may pick up the tree mulch in late January. Yard waste, tree stumps, or other house waste cannot be accepted. For details visit the Tree Recycling and Mulch webpage.

RTD Access A Ride

Access-a-Ride Portal

The Access-a-Ride Customer Portal is a web app that allows for easy monitoring and management of upcoming trips for Access-a-Ride, RTD’s complementary paratransit service. The portal updates every 30 seconds to provide customers with a location and an estimated time of arrival for their vehicle. The portal, available through the RTD website, can be bookmarked on a web browser and added to a smart device.

Giving Thanks

Giving Thanks

The Town always encourages sending a card, a child's sweet drawing, or a post of encouragement within the community. In these times especially, and in honor of Thanksgiving, consider giving thanks to healthcare organizations, schools, and many others. Notes of thanks to Town staff are graciously accepted and appropriately routed through the Erie Submit app, which can be used to get answers, highlight needed maintenance on Town facilities, and for other issues.
