Please be aware of a scam Erie PD was recently made aware of in our community.
Three parties have called to report a scam in which the party receives a voicemail asking them to call back either a "Sergeant Josh Roberts" or a "Lieutenant Mathis" and lists a phone number to call back. Neither of those names listed are correct for the Erie Police Department and the number left to call is in no way associated with any EPD numbers. Please do not attempt to call back the number from this voicemail if you receive one.
To confirm the legitimacy of a request for police contact, please do not hesitate to call the Erie Police Department dispatch number at 303-441-4444 to be connected to the department.
