At 8:14 a.m., on Saturday, June 18, officers were dispatched to a report of a hit and run crash at the intersection of County Road 3 and County Road 10. According to witnesses, a runner was using the crosswalk heading westbound on CR 10 and was struck by a white van heading northbound on CR 3. With the force of the impact, the runner was on the hood of the van for at least 15-20 feet. When the runner fell, the driver slowed and then ran over the runner’s arm before leaving the scene heading northbound on WCR 3. The runner was transported to a local hospital with injuries.
Police are attempting to track down the driver who fled. The van is described as a white work van with a grey bumper that is likely to have front-end damage. "We’re urging this person to come forward,” said Erie Police Department Public Information Officer Amber Luttrell.
Anyone with information is asked to call 303-441-4444 and ask to speak to an Erie officer.
