In an effort to obtain feedback regarding the Town of Erie’s website, the Town invites the public to participate in the Town of Erie Website Feedback Survey now available online. The short survey includes fourteen questions pertaining to the functionality, navigation and appearance of the Town’s website. The survey will close at Noon on Friday, April 15, 2011. BACKGROUND: In September of 2010, the Town of Erie launched a new website to enhance existing communication efforts between its citizens, partners and customers; interface with web 2.0 technologies; better meet the recommendations of the Town’s Economic Development and Marketing Plans; and improve content management functionality for Town Staff. As such, the Town’s website now contains enhanced interactive functionality featuring citizen access and notification modules, mobile application download and social media interfaces including:
• Notify Me – Register for Email and text messages from Town departments • Citizen Request Tracker – Report non-emergency concerns online 24/7• Mobile iPhone app - Submit photo of non-emergency concern (i.e. pothole) • RSS Feeds – Receive notification of the latest news items as they are released • Meetings and Events Calendar – View by list, week or month. • Facilities – Search facilities, review amenities and submit reservation request.• Bid & RFP Posting – Review bids and requests for proposals. • Carbon Footprint Calculator – Determine how you can affect climate change.• Enhanced Search Engine – Perform key word search of pages and documents• Archive Center – View agendas, minutes, newsletters and reports• Document Center – Obtain easy access to documents - searchable by department• Job Postings – Sort jobs by date or category and submit online application• FAQ Module – Get quick answers to frequently asked questions• Weather Widget – View current weather or weekly forecast for Erie• Photo Galleries – View recent and archived activities and events • Social Media Links – Access the Town’s Twitter posts conveniently
