Flatiron Meadows Boulevard Lane Closures
Beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021, the developer of Flatiron Meadows Boulevard will slurry coat Flatiron Meadows Boulevard from Front Range Road to 111th Street.

The work is expected to last through the end of the week, weather permitting. The work will involve reduced speeds and daytime lane shifts on Flatiron Meadows Boulevard.

Motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and traffic control signs, reduce speeds and, if possible, avoid the construction areas. Traffic control signage, delineators, and flaggers will be on-site to enable travel through the construction area in a timely and safe manner. Delays may occur and alternate routes are strongly recommended.

Background
The work is spearheaded by the HT Flatiron LP development and is necessary to firm up the improvements for final acceptance of Flatiron Meadows Boulevard and Homestead Parkway, otherwise known as ‘final acceptance’. Fortunately, projects in the Town of Erie have not been significantly impacted due to the industry-wide asphalt shortages affecting neighboring communities, thanks, in part, to strategic prioritization and planning. Read more about the asphalt shortage here. This does, however, mean that our window of opportunity for completing many of these important projects is very narrow. We have to use the resources while we have them!

For more information on this project, please contact Town of Erie Construction Inspector, Jason Mraz at 303-926-2877.

Cone Zone Alerts
It is still Street Maintenance season in Erie. There is a flurry of activity to extend the service life of all 138.5 miles of roads in the summer from pothole filling and patching to crack fill, slurry seal, double chip seal, mill, overlay, and chip seal each year.
