Crack Seal Project to Take Place in September

Crack sealing is when road maintenance crews apply a hot poured material into cracks in the roadway. Crack sealing helps to extend the overall life of an asphalt road.

Beginning the week of Sept. 6, 2021, a contractor for the Town of Erie will begin applying a hot poured crack seal material to identified arterial and collector streets throughout town as well as in certain neighborhoods including Arapahoe Ridge (west), Candlelight Estates, Country Fields, Erie Highlands, Erie Village, Kenosha Farms, Orchard Glen, and Sunwest.

Work will be performed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday, weather permitting.

For safety, the Town of Erie requests that pedestrians and bicyclists stay clear of the work zones. Residents in areas of work will be notified with a door hanger and No Parking signage will be posted where necessary. Please observe traffic control devices and keep vehicles parked in driveways until work has been completed in your neighborhood.

Work areas may periodically be reduced to single-lane traffic during daytime construction hours. Alternate routes are advised. Motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclist should pay close attention to flaggers and traffic control signs, reduce speeds and, if possible, avoid the construction area altogether.
