Boards & Commissions

The Town Council appoints both statutory and advisory boards to provide input and make recommendations on an ongoing or as-needed basis. Two statutory boards are required by the Colorado Revised Statutes (A): the Planning Commission by CRS 31-23-202 and the Board of Adjustment by CRS 31-23-307. Advisory boards are mandated by Town of Erie ordinances.

The Town Council appoints members to the Town’s various statutory and advisory boards and commissions. Appointments for vacancies are made by the new Council following the election. Appointments will also be made by the Council at other times, when necessary, following a resignation or other unexpected vacancy.

Selection Process

The board or commission with the vacancy will make recommendations of appointment to the Town Clerk. The Town Clerk will package an agenda item to be presented to the Town Council. The Council will consider the board or commission's recommendations for an appointment at a regular meeting.

All applicants are notified by the Town Clerk of the appointment made at a Town Council meeting. Onboarding and training will be provided at the first meetings.

For more information, contact the Town Clerk's Office at 303-926-2731.
