Erie Police Officer can respond to reports involving animal abuse or neglect, barking dog complaints, dog bites, dogs at large, or trapped dogs or cats.

Dog Licenses
Dog licensing is a FREE ticket home, meaning that if your dog is licensed, animal control can find their contact information (owner's name and address) and help get your four-legged family member home safely.

The Traffic Unit provides education and enforcement, directs patrols in response to community input, and responds to serious crashes or fatalities.

Police records are available to the public and processed in the order they are received. Fees may be applicable.

The Evidence Section works to maintain the property in the same condition in which it was received and to preserve the evidentiary value and integrity of the property.

Bike Registration
Erie Police encourages owners to register their bicycles for recovery should the bike become lost or stolen. There is no fee for this service.

Co-Responder
Co-responders receive extensive training in mental health, substance intoxication and treatment, crisis intervention, verbal de-escalation, crisis case management, tactical empathy, and more. Working as a team, law enforcement and a co-responder arrive together on calls that may involve mental health, substance use, the death of a loved one, or another type of crisis.
