Veterans Day Celebration

Town of Erie staff invite you to join us as we honor our veterans with a Veterans Day Celebration. The special event will feature a flag ceremony, speech about the history and importance of Veterans Day, Hometown Hero banner unveiling, patriotic music performed by Erie High School Choir, and a catered meal. This event is designed to honor our veterans for their service to our country. Past and current members of the military are welcome to wear their uniforms.

  • Date: Friday, Nov. 11
  • Time: Doors open at 10:30 a.m., event concludes at 2 p.m.
  • Location: Erie Community Center - Garfield Commons | 450 Powers Street
  • Fee: FREE! Pre-registration required. Registration deadline is Sunday, Oct. 30.

  • 10:30 a.m. | Doors Open, light refreshments at table  
  • 11 a.m. | Flag Ceremony / Speaker
  • 11:11 a.m. | Hometown Hero Banner Unveiling  
  • 11:15 a.m. | Photos with Hometown Hero Banners, families have an opportunity to recognize their veteran if they so choose.  
  • 11:45 a.m. | Catered meal served/socialize at tables
    • Menu: flatbread avocado chicken sandwich, mixed greens with Italian dressing, fresh fruit salad, brownie. 
  • 12:30 p.m. | Chorale performance by Erie High School
  • 1 p.m. | Military song performed, service members recognized
  • 2 p.m. | Event Concludes
