Residential Permit Applications
Please select the correct application form for the type of project you are completing. Homeowners may act as their own general contractor (supervising licensed sub-contractors) and/or may complete work on their primary residence. In this situation, a Homeowner Affidavit must be submitted with the appropriate application form and submittal documents. Applications can be submitted via the Customer Self-Service Portal (preferred) or via email to bldgfax@erieco.gov.
- Residential New 1 & 2 Family Dwellings and Townhomes: For brand new ground-up construction of new homes.
- Residential Addition or Remodel: For basement finish, additions, remodels.
- Miscellaneous Permit Application: For re-roofs, solar, fire pits, decks, pergolas, patio covers, fences, water heater replacement, furnace or A/C replacement, window replacement, hot tub, swimming pool, electrical service upgrade, minor electrical, minor plumbing, minor mechanical, water or sewer line repair, and any other miscellaneous items.
- Demolition Permit Application: For removal of structures or a portion of a structure.
Commercial Permit Applications

- Commercial New Building or Addition: For new builds or additions.
- Commercial Tenant Improvement or Remodel: For interior finish or remodel of a commercial building.
- Sign Permit Application: For signs of any type (monument, wall, ground, etc.).
- Miscellaneous Permit Application: For re-roof, furnace or A/C replacement, water or sewer line repair, window or door replacement, minor electrical, minor plumbing, minor mechanical, "WCF" wireless cell facility modifications (Land Use Application to Planning Division is also required), and any other miscellaneous items.
- Demolition Permit Application: For removal of structures or a portion of a structure.
