New Build Tree Program
Welcome and congratulations on your new-build home in beautiful Erie, Colorado!
Qualify for a Certificate
To qualify for a certificate, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- The New Build Tree Program is only for homes that are newly constructed, if your home is "new to you" but not newly built, please see our other great tree programs and resources.
- The Town of Erie issues this $200 certificate towards the purchase of up to two (2) qualifying trees to be planted at the Town of Erie address listed on your application.
- The certificate is applicable ONLY towards the cost of the tree, and may NOT be used toward the purchase of garden supplies, sod, bushes, shrubs of any kind, labor or any other cost associated with the tree purchase.
- Recipient will not be credited or refunded any unspent portion of this certificate that is not used toward a one-time tree(s) purchase.
- Must be purchased during one of two optimal planting periods
- Spring: March 1 - June 15
- Fall: September 1 - October 31
- Must be purchased from one of six approved nurseries for planting at a Town of Erie service address
- Must be one of the approved trees from the 2020 Approved Tree Species
- Excluding ash and dwarf varieties or trees with an expected mature height of less than 12 feet.
- Deciduous trees must be 1.5-inch caliper or greater
- Evergreens must be at least 6 feet tall
- Resident will call 811 Notification Center of Colorado to request a free locate of underground utilities prior to digging
- Resident will plant/or contract the planting of the tree in accordance with the Town of Erie Tree Planting Specifications
- Resident will not plant tree in the right of way area without a tree work permit obtained from the Parks Division.
- Resident accepts all planting and ongoing care of the tree
