- Town Event
A Town Event is funded, organized, hosted and produced by the Town of Erie. All Town Events will be advertised and promoted through all of the Town's promotional channels to the extent practicable.
- Town-Sponsored Event
A Town-Sponsored Event is produced in Erie for the benefit of Erie residents and visitors to Erie and is funded in whole or in part by the Town of Erie. Funding for Town-Sponsored Events appears in the adopted Town budget.
- Town-Endorsed Event
A Town-Endorsed Event is produced in Erie for the benefit of Erie residents and visitors and is not funded by the Town but is recognized by the Town Council as meeting the Award Criteria for Grants to Community Organizations and is therefore eligible for In-Kind Promotional Opportunities.
- Community Event
Community Events are large events that are fully planned and hosted by external organizations or individuals. These events typically involve reserving large parks, closing public streets, and are open to the public at large. These events require an approved Community Event Permit.
- Block Party Permit
A Block Party Permit is required for small gatherings within a neighborhood that will require a public street to be closed for a set amount of time. These events are usually intended for a small group of people to attend and not widely open to the general public. These types of gatherings require an approved Block Party Permit.
- Open Container Permit
A permit is required to serve beer or other fermented malt beverages when hosting an event at a Town park shelter, or in the street (Block Party). Similarly, a permit is required to serve fermented malt beverages or malt, vinous, or spirituous liquors when hosting an event inside the Erie Community Center or other indoors Town facility. Complete an Open Container Permit application now.
- Mobile Vending Permit
A mobile vendor is any person who sells or attempts to sell, or offers to the general public, any services or goods, including without limitation food and beverage from a mobile vendor vehicle, but excluding mobile vendors that are scheduled by a property owner or occupant to deliver goods and services directly to the owner or occupant. A Mobile Vending Permit is required for any person wanting to operate as a mobile vendor in the Town of Erie.
- Liquor License
A Liquor License is required to sell or distribute alcoholic beverages for commercial purposes in the Town of Erie and a state and local liquor license must be obtained. The key difference between and Open Container Permit and a Liquor License is the commercial aspect. Apply for a Liquor License today.
- Solicitor's Permit
Any organizations, businesses, or individuals who wish to solicit goods or services door-to-door in Erie are required to hold a Solicitor's Permit. And any households in Erie are able to add their address to a Do Not Solicit list that solicitors must respect.
