Coal Creek Park
Click below to see the conceptual master plan for the redevelopment of Coal Creek Park.
The redevelopment includes a new event lawn, entrance plaza, 2,000 sf restroom and picnic shelter building, an additional shade structure, two playground areas, 80 new parking spots with EV charging stations, splash pad (location TBD), and a multi-use area that will house the Town's ice rink, complete with enclosures to house ice rink equipment.
Staff is working on updating the construction documents. Redevelopment is scheduled to begin in late 2021.
Neighborhood Park at Colliers Hill
Parks & Recreation, along with the community, Colliers Hill HOA, and Norris Design are planning the next neighborhood park in Colliers Hill as part of Filing 4G. Community meetings were held January 28 and February 13 of 2020. Norris Design and the Parks & Recreation Department are finalizing the construction documents.
The park will consist of open turf fields, native areas, a large playground, loop trail, shelters, seating areas, a full sized basketball court, sand volleyball court, lawn game areas, and a parking lot. The timeline for construction is unknown at this time.
Compass Neighborhood Park
The Town and Lennar Homes have not yet begun to park master plan or identify a definitive timeline for the construction of the future neighborhood park in the Compass development. Construction of neighborhood parks, which are defined as being a minimum of seven acres in size, are funded all or in part by the individual developer. Town staff are in routine communication with Lennar Homes to create a plan and timeline for this project which will be communicated to the neighborhood early 2021.
Country Fields Park playground will be replaced in the summer of 2021. The old equipment will be removed and replaced with new, exciting structures along with new surfacing.
You can follow the project through our Engage Erie page.
Be on the lookout for information on how to participate in the community build project for the playground on June 5, 2021. Volunteer to help put together the equipment with your neighbor and be a real part of Erie's next great playground!

RTD Rail Regional Trail
Boulder County, in partnership with the City of Boulder and the Town of Erie, is evaluating options for the creation of a new soft-surface regional trail connection along with RTD-owned rail corridor, which would provide an important low-stress east-west trail connection in easter Boulder County.
This master planning effort is ongoing and managed by the Boulder County Community Planning @ Permitting Department.
