Erie Parks and Recreation won the Grand Award in class 5 for agencies with a population of less than 25,000. Agencies are judged on their ability to address the needs of those they serve through the collective energies of citizens, staff, and elected officials. Erie Parks and Recreation was a finalist for the Gold Medal Award in 2012.

The Gold Medal Award is the highest honor in the parks and recreation industry, including over 12,000 eligible agencies. To be recognized as one of the best parks and recreation agencies in the country is a huge honor for the whole Erie team. This achievement reflects our strong commitment to the Erie community in providing exceptional guest service, innovative programs, and world class parks and facilities.

This award also recognizes our citizens' involvement and investment in our quality parks and recreation system. Thank you for your support.
