Tree Board - Plant Your Future Here
Current Hot Topic: Drought & Tree Care

Mission Statement:
To educate the citizens of Erie about the importance of planting and maintaining trees on public and private lands, to maintain Erie's Tree City USA certification, to plan and promote an annual Arbor Day Festival, to involve the community in the work of the Tree Board and to promote sound management of Erie's urban forest.

Overview
Erie is a Tree City USA, a designation granted by the National Arbor Day Foundation to municipalities who effectively manage their public tree resources and implement community forestry programs. The board meets monthly to discuss these programs and related issues. The Tree Board consists of seven members appointed by the Board of Trustees in April of even-numbered years to serve four-year terms and shall be bona fide residents of the town. The Tree Board is also a primary source of information about Community Forestry.
