Boards and Commissions
Statutory / Advisory Boards
The Board of Trustees appoints both statutory and advisory boards to provide input and make recommendations on an ongoing or as-needed basis. Two statutory boards are required by the Colorado Revised Statutes (CRS): the Planning Commission by CRS 31-23-202 and the Board of Adjustment by CRS 31-23-307. Advisory boards (ie., Tree Board, Historic Preservation Advisory Board, Housing Authority and Open Space and Trails Advisory Board) are mandated by Town of Erie ordinances.

Disclaimer
All Board/Commission/Ad Hoc Committee communications (written or electronic) are subject to C.R.S. §§ 24-72-201 – 24-72-206, the “Open Records Act.”

Board Vacancies
The Board of Trustees appoints members to the Town's various statutory and advisory boards and commissions. Appointments for vacancies are made by the new Board following the regular municipal election. Appointments will also be made by the Board at other times, when necessary, following a resignation or other unexpected vacancy.
