Leash Law Reminders

Dog_Leash

As the weather warms up and more people are using Town parks and trails, the Erie Police Department would like to remind Residents of our dog leash ordinance:

When dogs are taken off of their property, they must be in control by a person and restrained by a substantial chain or leash, 15 feet or less in length.

The only place that is permissible to have your dog off leash when off their property is Erie’s dog park – The Boneyard. View more information about the dog park here.

The goal is to keep our furry friends and citizens as safe as possible when we are all outdoors enjoying the trails, parks, and open space the Town of Erie has to offer. If you have any further questions please contact the Erie Police Department at 303-926-
2800.
