Award Recipient Background: Founder, and Erie resident, of Erie Singletrack Advocates (ESA), Adam Haid began his vision for singletracks in Erie when he noticed great terrain near his Vista Pointe home. As an avid mountain biker with a network of advocates around Erie and Boulder County, Adam began to give his idea roots by building community support, sketching out a potential route map, and presenting his ideas to the Town of Erie’s Open Space and Trails Advisory Board and later to the Board of Trustees. From there, ESA was born to share their passion for mountain biking with our community.

Since 2013 ESA has singlehandedly built over 5 miles of singletrack trails, with plans to build 4 more miles. The volunteer organization now has over 250 volunteers and has logged over 3,300 hours to complete the project. In addition, the materials required to build the trails were largely purchased from donations through fundraising events organized by ESA.

Adam’s and ESA’s significant contributions to the Town’s trails has made a positive impact for our community. Their service and stewardship has created a network of user-friendly trails that welcome mountain bikers, runners, and walkers of all ages and abilities that will be a staple in our community for generations to come.
