Board Approves Contract for Open Space Management Plan & Natural Areas Inventory Update

During Tuesday night’s meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a contract with Great Ecology for an Open Space Management Plan and Natural Areas Inventory Update.  With 18 Open Space properties, six of which have been acquired since 2014, the Town will work with the consultant to create its first Open Space Management Plan in order to understand, manage, and preserve the ecological integrity of the Town’s entire Open Space portfolio. In addition, the consultant will update the Town’s Natural Areas Inventory, which was last updated in 2007.


Board Approves Colliers Hill Filing No. 2A Final Plat

The Board approved a resolution accepting dedications as shown in the Colliers Hill Filing No. 2A Final Plat and authorizing the approval of the Colliers Hill Filing No. 2A Development Agreement.  Colliers Hill Filing No. 2A is located south of the Mount Pleasant Cemetery and west of Colliers Boulevard.  The Final Plat consists of 58 single-family lots and 7 tracts and is a replat of Tracts 4 and 5 of the Bridgewater Master Subdivision. This is the last remaining filing of Phase 1 of Colliers Hill.

  • Final Plat Size:  29.46 acres
  • Number of Residential Lots:  58 single-family lots
  • Minimum Residential Lot Size Permitted:  3,500 square feet


Board Approves Dearmin Rezoning

The Board approved on Second Reading an ordinance approving the Dearmin property rezoning. The purpose of the ordinance is for a rezoning from RP-3-Rural Reservation 3 to LR-Low Density Residential, NMU-Neighborhood Mixed-Use, and AG/OS-Agricultural/Open Space.  The Dearmin property is located south of Erie Parkway, east of County Road 5 and north of County Road 6.  The applicant is proposing 765 dwelling units on approximately 266.66 acres; this equals a gross density of 2.87 dwelling units per acre. Also included in the proposal is 35,000 sq. ft. of commercial space located in the mixed use area adjacent to Erie Parkway. These zoning designations fit with the anticipated uses and level of intensity of use in the Comprehensive Plan.

The Board of Trustees will meet in a Study Session on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. The next regularly scheduled Board of Trustees meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. All meetings are held in the Town Hall boardroom located at 645 Holbrook Street in Erie.
